Scalability of hub/node - product discussions - help needed.

Need help figuring out the scalability and possibility of this use case with a company called Coursera.

We're trying to figure out what's possible with Vanilla currently and whether or not we can handle their level of scale.

Some initial questions:

-What is the max number of categories that a node can have?

-What are the max number of user roles a node can have?

-What does the number of nodes mean from a DB/hosting perspective?

Here's a doc that anyone at Vanilla should be able to see/comment on.

The toughest part of this entire endeavour is figuring out what's a node, a subcommunity or category. I think we thought we had it figured out because they wanted a unified user table for the most part. The problem with what we proposed initially in cell B2 is that sites have limits to how many categories they need and there are thousands of courses. That, and the fact that they want to have limited spaces based on a user role leads to me to believe that having a more regimented Role system with many nodes might work better. That said, it would be thousands of nodes.

Would anyone from R&D be able to comment on the scaliability concerns?

Keep in mind, that if were doing this, we're talking a major MRR, it might have to be 20K if not more for it to work and some custom dev work.

I want to use this thread to discuss but also feel free to comment on the Google sheet.
