Let's talk community frameworks we can use! ?
Hey Folks,
I know the other day I shared the framework from CMX, but because it's proprietary and they charge... some of you had some concerns.
It was also killing me, because we have our own concepts I have created - ready to be used. This is all part of the CSM training coming soon™ - but due to the reaction my earlier post had, and after speaking with Derrick, I decided to give a small peek. It's created for our team and so we can use it without any worry when talking to customers.
So let me present two concepts you can use today! 🤩
When it comes to identify key value for a community we can use S.P.A.N. What kind of community are your trying to build?
- Support: create a space for members for self-support
- Product: create better products - share ideas
- Ambassador - brand loyalty
- Network - Relies on the network of people with deep connection to the action or circumstance that fuels your community.
Examples you can relate (among others -- this is just to help you categorize - choose main function)
- Support: Cireson
- Product: OnShape
- Ambassador: Foursquare, Acer
- Network: The Mix, BCNA.
To also whet your appetite for the training, here is also something I wanted to share, but we will go deeper into it. Most of you know the MVP Principle I have shared - which is people first community building - focused on external and intern most valuable people... but how does that apply to making community building plan????
May I present the following, and why you can’t ship your community without C.A.R.G.O!
Below are the 5 questions you want to have answered in any community plan:
- Concept: What is the subject the community is about?
- Acquisition: How will we get them to care- emotional triggers? What we want members to feel/experience?
- Retention: - What will keep them coming back?
- Goals: what are the main KPI that matters to the internal MVPs -- and how do we translate that to external MVPs?
- Outcomes: What are the specific long-term outcomes that define success?
Please know this is only a taste of what's coming! I am very excited to share more with all of you very soon - I plan to write more and talk more about this in the future. In the meantime, if you have any questions, let's chat - you know where I am 😀
