What are our new rules for deployment of staging clusters?
I'm looking to clarify what the guidelines for the deployment of staging clusters. After a recent understanding with @Linc my understanding is the following:
Please feel free to correct me here.
Testing Clusters
This is all cl100xx clusters. Currently this is cl10011 and cl10012 . cl10011 is a testing cluster for operations and cl10012 is the cluster for the development team.
cl10012is fair game to be deployed at any time. If you are going to be deploying this to a particular custom branch be sure to notify other developers in the Developers chat and set branches back to master when complete.cl10011is for operations only. Do not deploy it. ???
Staging Clusters
Currently this is cl200xx clusters. If you deploy one of these be sure to deploy all of the other ones. Currently all of these are fair game to deploy master branch on. Other branches should not be deployed on these clusters.
In the future the VIP staging clusters will be more strictly controlled with deploys. At the moment there is no clear separation though.
Standard and Priority Clusters
This is cl300xx and cl400xx. These clusters should be deployed only when coordinated by the support team, currently @Laura, @franciscaisse🦃, @danim , @chrisc.
VIP clusters
Any cl500xx cluster should only ever be deployed in coordination with the CSMs for that particular client.
