  • CSM: Customer Success Manager. All our higher-tier customers have a 1:1 relationship with someone at Vanilla.
  • SDR: Sales Development Representative. Generates outbound leads via cold calling & emailing with goal of handing off to sales.
  • MDR: Marketing Development Representative. Follows inbound leads from marketing activity with goal of handing off to sales.
  • R&D: Research and Development. At Vanilla, this is the product developer team.

Metrics

  • MRR: Monthly Recurring Revenue. This is the nectar of life for a cloud-based business.
  • ARR: Annual Recurring Revenue. MRR x 12.
  • ARPU: Average Revenue Per User. Selling more / bigger to the same number of customers increases this.
  • ABM: Accounts-Based Marketing. A marketing strategy where you tailor 1:1 for individual targets.
  • MQL: Marketing-Qualified Lead. The marketing team thinks this person is likely to buy.
  • SQL: Sales-Qualified Lead. The sales team agrees this person is ready to buy.
