Jira Search overview: Searching for issues

Adding Existing Search Filters

I have made several filters I find useful and shared them with the entire organization. It's quite easy to add these filters to your own views:

  1. Click the "Filters" item in the top menu
  2. Click "View all filters" in the drop-down menu
  3. Sort by owner
  4. Click the star next to a desired filter
  5. The filter now appears in the "Filters" menu
  6. The filter also appears in the left panel of the "Advanced Search" view

Alternately, if you want to rename the filter (for example - to change "Current User" to your name):

  1. Click the "Filters" item in the top menu
  2. Click "View all filters" in the drop-down menu
  3. Sort by owner
  4. Click on the filter name
  5. Click the "Save As" link
  6. Choose a name and click the "Submit" button
  7. Your filter now appears in the left panel of the "Advanced Search" view
  8. Your filter also appears in the "Filters" menu

Create Your Own Advanced Search Filters

If my filters have gone missing for some reason, you can also create them from scratch:

  4. Paste a provided search (from below, for example) into the field
  5. Click the "Search" button
  6. Click the "Save as" link
  7. Enter a name for the search and click the "Submit" button
  8. Your filter will now appear in the left menu of the Advanced Search view
  9. Your filter will also appear in the "Filters" menu

JQL Filters

If something happens to me or my filters and you cannot find them, here is the JQL for my filters. You can use the above process to add these to your filters.
