Banning Basics
Banning a user can seem to be a daunting, yet occasionally necessary, result to dealing with an uneasy situation. Here are some answers to questions that may revolve around banning a user.
Can that user still login after receiving a ban?
No. That user's account is now listed as banned. Thereby revoking the ability to log into the clients site and view content under that banned account.
Is the banned account permanently deleted?
No. While a user is banned, and can no longer access the account, one can still locate the account in the Manage Users tab of Moderation. Yet the account will show as banned, their profile picture change and marked up. However, you are able at anytime the ability to unban that account by going into the user's profile.
Does their content still display to other users upon being banned? - Yes and No. When you ban a user you are also given the option to delete all of the user's content. You can check that box off at your will. Thereby allowing all the posts and comments from that user to disappear. Just know that if you ever decide to unban that user you can also restore that 'deleted' content and redisplay it to other users.
