Examples of Vanilla in the wild?
Have you come across Vanilla during your personal web searches? Have you witnessed any controversies or uplifting moments in a Vanilla discussion?
Here's one to get this thread going... The CEO of Expensify has sent an email to customers asking them to vote for Joe Biden. He says that people won't file expense reports if there is a civil war.
Customers are already complaining about this on the Vanilla community.

Can't find the link now, but I remember looking up some information on rigging up some gear in the bed of the truck and ended up in the Big Green Egg community.

I end up on the ESO Vanilla Community regularly.

I actually used the GolfWRX community when doing some research on buying new clubs earlier this year. Was pretty helpful. (They were on Vanilla at the time)

I'm not as active on it as I use to be but I've been on the Penny-Arcade forum since high school, I think.
For a while, I also had a real hard time explaining to my dad what my job was exactly ("Forms? You make online forms?") but while visiting the family over a holiday, I caught him browsing one of the Perfect World sites (he's been playing Star Trek Online for years) and I got to be: "I WORK ON THAT! THAT SITE! THAT'S WHAT I DO!" Apparently it's a site he's on all the time looking up in-game events and finding good ship builds and whatnot.

This is sort of a foreboding of Vanilla in the wild, but I had to look up an issue regarding an Activision game. I ended up on their forum, which is awful. I've been having conversations with King about getting their big brothers, Activision and Blizzard, onto Vanilla. And as I was fruitlessly looking for answers, I said to myself, "soon."

I believe they currently self-host Discourse.

Yeah they moved from Khoros over to Discourse recently.
I'm on the Total War forums daily as Total War: Warhammer 2 is one of my favourites games of all time. Currently the community is insufferable between DLC launches.

Speaking of upcoming Vanilla Communities, I can't wait for Fizz to launch. Their current community is crap and annoys me very much. Being a long time Fizz customer (I was with them from beta), it will be nice not to have my questions automatically closing upon one (often incorrect) answer.
