"Content manager" idea

I wrote a quick spec this morning to solve a specific problem a moderator told me about on the open site, so I made it a little generic to also solve problems I have a lot. Interested in hearing from support and success here on whether this is something that would be valuable. You can comment here or on the issue.

  • I really like the idea of adding this logic! Do you think this would combine with the idea of being notified, when there is something new in the moderation queue that needs to be actioned? This is more of a one time notification, than as each new item gets added.

  • No, this is for "management" i.e. performing an action on a trigger. A moderation queue notification is its own feature with separate complications.

  • I'm into this. Spam following an obvious pattern is very hard to explain to customers. Having some sort of means to catch it will feel intuitive. This would help eliminate support requests around clearing obvious spam, too.

I suggest, if you implement "Apply to last X hours of content", that you actively show what discussions it will be applied to beforehand. Google does this with its filters, showing the tentative results of the conditions below. At the very least, show "This condition will affect X number of threads" somewhere. That'll help people determine if they've made their condition too broad.

Is it possible to make the mod queue searchable?

    That's a Moderation v2-grade feature, I think.
