API Rate Limits

Hey there, 

Our API rate limiting is not something that can be adjusted, but you can aim to stagger requests to fit within the existing constraints by examining the response headers to look for the cooldown time when being rate limited. 

When our team works with other APIs we add a middleware to our client that sleeps during cooldowns and resubmits the request when it's possible. That is a common best practice when working with APIs.

Email Whitelabeling

Customer should set the following DNS records:

{RANDOM_STRING}.{CLIENT_DOMAIN} IN CNAME email.vanillahosted.com

vf._domainkey.{CLIENT_DOMAIN} IN CNAME vf.domainkey.vanillahosted.com

vf2._domainkey.{CLIENT_DOMAIN} IN CNAME vf2.domainkey.vanillahosted.com

Add ONE OF the following entries to the SPF record of the outgoing domain ({CLIENT_DOMAIN}):

ip4:208.117.49.186 

OR

include:sendgrid.net

Once the customer made the change, we need to verify the settings to make them live.

Please let us know when this is done. Doing so on the same ticket would be highly appreciated.

How to connect to the SFTP:

- Download and Install FileZilla

- Open FileZilla

- Enter the address of the server in the Host field, located in the QuickConnect bar. sftp://exports.vanillaforums.com

- Enter your username

- Enter your password

- Enter the port number 

- Click on QuickConnect or press Enter to connect to the server.

- Click OK when you get a warning about an unknown host key.
