Goodbye FileUpload
FileUpload was Vanilla's original upload addon. It has since been succeeded by the upload capabilities of Advanced Editor, which itself was succeeded by the upload capabilities of Rich Editor. The code is a decade old. Less than twenty of our hosted sites use it. It's been utterly broken for almost ten months. We get HackerOne reports about it to this day. It's time to put it out to pasture.
We'd like to begin disabling the addon across infrastructure within the next week or two. Then we'll remove it, entirely. If any support issues arise from these actions, we'll address them on a case-by-case basis.
If you're curious about the communities still using FileUpload, we have a spreadsheet you can checkout: Sites with the FileUpload addon.

FileUpload has been disabled on all the sites listed in in the spreadsheet, above.
We'll be revisiting this in a few weeks, after giving people time to complain. At that point, we'll decide whether or not we can move forward with permanently deleting the addon.
