edited April 2017 in Product

For themes, please compare against current production. You can use staging liberally; if you find any issues, please reproduce locally as a first step whenever possible. If you have questions, ask me or any R&D dev or post here.

VIP release is April 11-12; all QA needs to be done EOD Monday April 10.

@patrick_kelly

  • oxford - OAuth2, theme
  • oculus - OAuth2, theme
  • sega - OAuth2, 3 themes
  • adobe - OAuth2 + API endpoints, theme
  • ea - SSO, SEO plugins
  • marykay - custom registeration workflow, theme

Please fill in any missing readme documentation.

@slafleche & @charrondev

  • ea - 11 themes
  • perfectworld - 1 plugin (API kludge), 3 themes
  • digitalspy - theme
  • goodgames - 6 themes
  • enmasse - 3 themes
  • mmorpg - theme w/ flat categories
  • glu - 3 themes
  • capitalone - 2 themes

If you find issues, document it in the readme so we pay special attention to those pages in the future.

@franciscaisse

  • edmunds - car tagging, theme
  • myfitnesspal - multiple customizations, theme
  • zenimax - multiple features, theme
  • kixeye - advanced embed, heavy API use, theme
  • roadtripnation - miultiple, theme

I'm going to assist with expanding the readme docs for these and co-QA RTN.

@DaazKu

  • amplify - queue fork, premoderation QA, hub/node custom, themes

Todd has written specific QA steps for Amplify's premoderation that's in their repo. They are on the feature/queues for that needs master merged into it. Todd usually does this.

@ryan

  • xogroup - customization soup, app-embedded, 3 themes

XO's plugin is a hot mess and they embed in an app. You will probably be spared the in-app QA.

Comments

  • My goal here was to keep everyone in the 1-3 hours range, so gauge your level of detail accordingly. We don't need absolute perfection, but we also don't want something embarrassing to show up.

  • College confidential - Road trip nation

    In the discussion, use Edmunds' custom emoji. Verify it renders as expected. --> OK

    MFP and Zenimax coming tomorrow.

  • I ran through staging sites for The Nest, The Knot and The Bump. Everything seemed in working order compared to production, although it didn't look like they'd been used for a while. The plug-in seems to be doing everything it should, based on what I was seeing in the code. Theming seemed fine.

    Two of the three staging sites had config-related issues (e.g. category display types, wrong repo branch) that have been remedied. They don't appear to be potential problems for production.

  • Stephane reported in that his sites were all fine, excepting a couple very minor things that I don't think are release-related.

  • So far I can confirm working:

    • Oxford works fine, theme works.
    • Total War works fine, theme works.

    I can confirm not working:

    • Oculus, I can't confirm works, logging out hangs due to an ajax error on our end.

    I cannot confirm:

    • Tested Company of Heroes, was not able to get it to assign roles.

    Have not yet tested:

    • Dawn of War
    • Adobe
    • Ea
    • MaryKay
  • MFP
    Warnings: Search for user in Dashboard, click "Profile", then select "Warnings" from the user dropdown. --> I was able to issue different warnings to user. Warnings were coherent with what is set is their config.

    User cards: Hover over profile links. Select options. --> Ban and Ignore option are OK, send message asked me for a different connection.

    Groups: View group leaders. Search for group content (requires Sphinx - use staging). --> OK

    Mobile: View & do basic QA on their custom Lithe fork. --> OK tested in staging

    Zenimax

    Val reported that their categories don't collapsed anymore on staging, this bug is also present on my local testing environment, there is an error in their eso-nav.js file causing this.

    The other bug Val reported is when you a trying to access the mobile site via the Back to mobile site link, you get a broken page until you refresh.

    Dev Tracker: Comment as a staff user. Confim tracker adds post. --> OK
    Tickets: Create, view, & delete a ticket. --> OK
    Mute: Mute a user. --> OK
