Group Cycle - Sat 19th?
Hi all,
For those who have not spoken to me recently, I am full of dread at the onset of winter and trying to squeeze every last bit of fun out of my first Canadian fall. I'm also trying to get together, and get active as much as possible before the cold makes both of these things more difficult.
As such I'm inviting anyone who would like to join for a cycle along the St. Lawrence River and Lachine Canal this Saturday afternoon!
The whole route is about 1h10 of mostly-flat cycling, going at a reasonable rate, but we would take whatever pace people are most comfortable with. I've done it several times over the summer, and it's really nice! I don't have a fancy bike, or any fancy gear; all you need is any two wheels (preferably attached to the same frame). Weather looks decent right now.
If anyone wants to join, starting point will be Canadian Tire in Verdun, this Saturday the 19th @ 2pm. We can take a little rest in Rene Levesque Park just over half-way and finish at St. Ambroise Terrace, because where I come from all good exercise ends at a pub*. Friends and family welcome, too.
If you are interested, let me know in here and we can coordinate more later on in the week.
*- if a terrace is beyond your covid comfort right now, that is totally fine. Beer optional. It is a spacious, outdoor venue and possible to keep 2m distance, thus adhering to current regulations.

Nice.... this is the kind of thing I'd join, if I was in Montreal.
soooo this being your first Canadian autumn, does that mean this will be your first Canadian winter ?

I mean, we can meet at Canadian Tire Ottawa at 11pm Friday if you like Rhys?
I've done two winters here already, but I was not PR so it was different. I used to winter in MTL and summer in Eastern Europe!

It's a nice ride, I've done a couple of times this summer. I'll see if I can go this weekend, otherwise let's try another time ;)

What are people thinking then? No worries if not - I'll be going anyway and just skip Canadian Tire :)
