Decided to work outside and catch some nice weather before the Polar Vortex. Seems my WFH colleague wants in on some email action. (she's not supposed to be on the couch ?)

@BrendanParm This pupdate is beyond timely and needed. I've been having clandestine meetings by the fence in my yard with my neighbor's Golden Retriever. I spend a good 10 minutes petting her and telling how much of a good dog she is. This is a daily thing now.

There is a stray cat (we call her Tinycat on account of her being very tiny) that hangs out around the house because one of my housemates feeds her. About the time when the lockdown started, Tinycat suddenly inflated and we were like 'Whoa, she's pregnant.'
She gave birth and there were a few weeks where we weren't sure if the babies had survived (A LOT of raccoons, other strays, opossums, bears, etc in our area), but this morning we got a bit of surprise:
This one came out for a second, cut my housemate up and then vanished under a weird concrete slab we have at the side of our house (we're pretty sure they're nesting under it).
I haven't been able to get pictures of all of them - they're very good at hiding in the kudzu or under the house - but we think there are four. Two yellow ones, a white one and a gray-striped one.

That's how I ended up with Thalia, my white cat. Stray had a couple of kittens under my ex's house. My kids talked me into keeping one.

That's the same way I got Riker. A litter of kittens was born under my parents' shed and one day my dad just kinda dropped him off at my house and I had a cat.

I promise I won't flood this discussion with pictures of stray kittens but it is a very exciting morning in Asheville.
