Calling Vanilla Nerds...
Hello, isolated friends...
Does anyone want to play Dungeons and Dragons?!
I’m not the most experienced of players, but I think it would translate really well to our current situation. We could all do with a bit of escapism right now, after all.
If you don’t already know what DnD is, here’s a pretty good primer video. I’m not so down with the funny voices, but each to their own...
I’m looking to make a group of 4-6 beginners, and running one of the many starter adventures out there. A session would take 2-3 hours in an evening, and we’d run it over Zoom. If people enjoy it, the idea is very much to make it a regular thing with an ongoing campaign.
I assume I will DM to get things going, but would love it if other people wanted to give it a go in time. If you’re reading this and are an experienced player who wants to DM, that would be awesome.
Anyone interested, make yourself known to me and we can take it from there.
Cheers
Mike

This is definitely for beginners. My only DND experience has come from PC games

All the rules are on that last link I've sent.
You guys will need a Dungeon Master though. It's work. There are some campaign that you can base yourself on online.
We are playing this one: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/187222/Fantasy-Grounds-DD-Curse-of-Strahd?src=newest&filters=0_0_45393_0_45359_45462_0_0
You can get those PDF for free if you don't care about ethics

Awesome stuff.
We'll be playing 5e yeah. These vids are a well produced example of simple campaign and have helped me
The high elf chick is kinda annoying...

You guys... really... really pull my heart-string. ♥️
Saddly, I feel this would be huge time commitment on my part. How often would we play? For what duration per session?
Otherwise, games that are briefer in nature might also be suitable. How about MTG, Pokémon TCG & such?
We could also do videogames tournaments & such. ?
(I wasn't meaning to derail that thread.)

Create another thread and then people can join that too - I think there is plenty of spare time for many of us to do different things :D

My guess is next week we have some quick character creation/intro one-on-ones; the week after that we meet for a 2-3 hour session one evening, and then see what people have time for whilst quarantined. My hope is that we could do once a week whilst in lockdown, then maybe once a month IRL when we are allowed out again.
