Please Read: New Vanilla Slides and Document Templates
Hello team,
Last year, we introduced a new Google Slides and Power Point Presentation template for everyone's use. We've now extended it to Google Docs and Word Documents. Thanks to Elisa's keen eye and design expertise, we have beautiful, on brand, templates to use.
Here are the links to the assets:
Document template: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lnAjip9O6YJpFee6z-YcF1g01iJadzS5hOMkXh4ZIB8/edit
Document template with ability to add a second logo: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a1Qv5nNCIS-_I68lYLqeBQ4tkis0HE3DdE8_W1WnXvA/edit
Presentation template: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1tBsXvmiu2ZQa6UpJckPYn1_nATzzuBW2
We ask that all formal communications, presentations and documents, be done using these templates.
The choice of colors, fonts and styles is explained in our Vanilla Brand Guide.
- Fonts: Open Sans
- Colors: Primary palette is detailed here. Please do not use the secondary color palette, it is intended for the hosted Vanilla product only. Please do not use other colors than what is defined in the primary palette.
- Logos: We have several legacy logos floating on the web, so we ask that only use the logos provided in the template OR here.
How to recognize the right logo to use:
*It is a flat single color - it can be white, black, gray, blue or pink.
*it does not have a shadow or bubbly effect in it.
The updated Vanilla logo has a curved tail in the first a of Vanilla.
The legacy logo has a pointy tail in the first a of Vanilla. Please avoid using this logo as we are slowly phasing it out from our marketing and communications.
Finally, we'd like to know if you would like to have a lunch and learn on how to best use the new document template. Please comment below.
Any questions?

There's another cover option, if you want to use a customer logo:

I am using the document and I have a preliminary question.
I made a copy of the version that Mel had linked to her in original post and then created a version for the sake of the document I am creating (An RFP response document).
It seemed like from the sample text that there were specific settings for things like H1 or H2 etc. It seems now however if I select H2 in my document, it defaults back to Arial and regular black for the text colour rather than the Open Sans Light font.
It just seems to me like there are certain theme styles associated with this document and yet when I made a copy and try to make changes for my new document, none of thoe styles seems to come over and I am not sure how I am supposed to do it.

Yeah this is sadly a limitation with Google Docs
/our knowledge of Google Docs. One way to retain styles is to "paste without formatting" and using this icon in docs to replicate the style.

I further investigated to see if Google had resolved this issue and it is still not something we can set company wide. My apologies @BrendanParm .
