It's happening! Phase one of notifications improvements.
Today we deployed to the is cluster a product enhancement that will allow for the sending of multiple notifications at the same time. More improvements are coming down the pipe but this will be a first step. Let us know if you don't get notifications or you get unexpected behaviour from the staff forum.

It's for discussion and comment notifications, in general. To the user, nothing should really be changing. We're basically optimizing things here, so users stop getting those timeout errors after they submit a new post on sites that have to send out hundreds or thousands of notifications. We're also trying to reduce the number of emails we're sending, using BCCs to still reach the same recipients, to further reduce the overall time a request takes.
