Rich Quotes

Wondering if it'd be possible to add a time stamp to rich quotes. Is this something we can do through a locale change? Theme hooks? At the moment it has the date stamp.

  • Going to relay that to the cx. good eye, thanks Adrian

  • @farhan i believe we can change it do include time with a locale change, but it would change everywhere, not just on quotes, I'd have to test it tto be 100% but i suspect the locales here would work: https://staff.vanillaforums.com/discussion/547/dates-timestamps-and-timezones-oh-my-%F0%9F%A6%81

  • @shaunamcclemens Didn't work on my staging site. Changes all locales include a time stamp and it appeared everywhere except for in the rich quote.

  • @farhan you are correct the locale thought I had does not work

Seems there is no locale string which is not ideal for using rich text editor with non English languages, here you can see a post created in french that is quoted still shows the english date:

@Adam Charron any plans to add locale strings here?

  • Locales for these are currently formatted using the locale detected in the user's browser. This is the same system in use for knowledge base. Send it to product@vanillaforums.com and it might make it in when we do localization for knowledge bases.

  • @shaunamcclemens @farhan It's worth checking also what the exact request is.

Do they want a custom time formatting or do they want relative time? Eg. "yesterday" or "4 hours ago" or "3 weeks ago".

  • @Adam Charron The request I've gotten from the client right now is to add the next to the time.

  • is to add the next to the time

What does that mean? They want a specific fuller date format? So always the absolute date, with the time?

  • They just want to add the Time Stamp next to the Date Stamp. So yeah, always the absolute date with the time.

  • Another question about Rich Quotes

At the moment when a user decides to quote a post, they need to then scroll down to the editor. Is it possible for post editor to be in focus along with the quote immediately? I feel it was like this before.

Wondering if this is by design or if it's a glitch?
