Dev Team Names

Shortly, we will be splitting up R&D into two teams. This will start to make reporting and sprints difficult as sprints are typically labelled with just a date. Furthermore, as we start moving services into our same scrum workspace things will get even more confusing.

The suggestion I have is to name the teams so that we can more easily see who's working on what in the tools we use everyday.

Now, I know that something as seemingly simple as coming up with a team name can lead to much gnashing of teeth so I've come up with some guidelines.

  1. Let's use the alphabet to increment names. So the first team will start with "A" and the second team will start with "B", etc.
  2. Try and make the names either one word or something we can refer to with one word (ex. "Team Animal Nitrate" can be colloquially called "Animal").
  3. Give a list of four names to represent A, B, C, D...
  4. The CSMs are Team Awesome so you can't take that. We could even give them "A" and start from "B".

Alright, let's see what you lot can come up with. Also, if you have some other great idea then feel free to break the rules here.
