Add-ons Master List

edited May 2019 in Product

We have an add-ons page where users can browse add-ons that are available to them, but many of our add-ons are hidden on the /plugins page where only CSMs can enable them. When we're working with prospects and new customers they want to know about all of the add-ons that are available to them, and it's up to the CSM to put together a list based on their recommendations.

It would be helpful to have a Guide or an Article in the KB that acts as an add-on's catalogue of sorts. This is something the CSMs can work on as a team, but we'll need to spruce up our definitions, add some links to relevant docs and make sure that add-ons that are only available to a certain tier are properly identified.

Here's the full list, I've removed things like the DB Logger, and VIP Self-Deploy on purpose, as these need to be negotiated into the contract.

Comments

  • API v2 Docs: API v2 documentation customized for your community right in your dashboard.

  • I've activated Link Types for a Client and I'm seeing this pop up show up when navigating away, however once clicking on the link it does not open in a seperate tab. I'm wondering if there's a config fix to enable this?

  • There is, it's under Security.

  • Regarding the Ignore plugin

It doesn't really filter posts out of the discussion. It seems to just be greying them out. Wondering is this is due to the theme or if we can change this behaviour?

  • Anyone?

  • @farhan

I've activated Link Types for a Client and I'm seeing this pop up show up when navigating away, however once clicking on the link it does not open in a separate tab. I'm wondering if there's a config fix to enable this?

We made the decision some time ago specifically to not open links in other tabs. If a link is set to open in the same window, an end user can always have it open in another tab by pressing Cmd/Ctrl (depending on the system) while clicking the link of by using the context menu (right click).

If you force links into a new tab the user does not have any hotkey to open in the current tab.

  • So what's the difference between these two:

Vanilla Analytics: Track important trends on your forum and chart them in a customizable dashboard.

Vanilla Statistics: Adds helpful graphs and information about activity on your forum over time (new users, discussions, comments, and pageviews).

i.e. what gets turned on and off?

  • Vanilla statistics is what you see under 'dashboard' in the backend.

  • Is there such a list for Modules.... e.g. The LeaderBoard module?

  • Found a missing one:

    Resolved Discussions v2

Allow staff users to mark discussions as resolved. Only staff users see the resolution status.

  • Warnings and Notes

Community rules is a new feature of warnings and notes that allows site administrators to create rules where users can be warned by moderators for violating them. A "Community Rules" section now appears in the dashboard once the "Warnings and Notes" plugin is enabled. Site administrators can then be allowed to create, modify and delete these rules.

Moderators can able to select a rule that was broken when warning a user. The violated rule will be visible by the user who received the warning.

Once rules are configured a dropdown will become visible when creating a warning.

  • Intercom - intercom.io plugin is obsolete and doesn't work. Putting this here in case someone looks for info on it.
