CAB Meeting Minutes
Once a month, Vanilla's Client Advisory Board meets to discuss customer-requested features. We discuss why folks want them, how we could implement them, and most importantly - are they good ideas? It's a 60-minute roundtable event whose participants currently include:
- Chief Product Officer (Todd)
- Directors of Success & Development (Derz & me)
- Head of Support (Laura)
- Head of Community & Evangelism (Adrian)
- All CSMs
The general format is to go around the room and poll CSMs on their current top request(s) and discuss them. New ideas are filed on this forum in the CAB ideation category to be voted on. https://staff.vanillaforums.com/categories/cab
We repeat topics frequently, which lets us iterate a bit on our ideas and recommendations each month. The goal is that when an idea is approved and ready, Todd will design the feature and we'll prioritize it as a small- to medium-sized item in our roadmap.
In this discussion, I'm going to start posting my meeting minutes to provide a record of what's been discussed. Feel free to clarify my notes or provide additional commentary.

On August 3, we discussed:
- Delivering warnings via PM vs Notification. Initial proposal was to move from PM to notification. But we discussed Penny Arcade's use of both System account (Dog) and individual moderator warnings and recognized there are a number of ways to want to engage users thru moderation. We also discussed individuals disabling PMs and how that would interplay with a PM-based warning and moderator messages.
- Featured Discussions. This is still top of the list.
- "Latest Answers" and "Latest Ideas" modules for those addons.
- Tag permission. We already have a permission to create a tag; this is to tag a discussion.
- Support: SSO logging / UniqueID visibility in Dashboard for troubleshooting and self-service.
- AMA (currently the Oculus addon is not available for wider use).
